Privacy policy
Effective: November 8, 2026. Last updated: November 8, 2026.
This covers the Apocalypse EWS Discord bot and this website. “We” means the people running this bot, not Discord or the original EWS project.
The short version: We keep records to run the bot and fix problems. This includes text you send to the bot. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Visiting this website. We add no analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or sign-up forms. GitHub Pages hosts the site. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security, as explained in its privacy statement.
Using the bot. We store:
- Your Discord user, channel, and server IDs where relevant; subscription status; and dates of subscriptions, reminders, and other actions. IDs are Discord’s account and channel numbers.
- Commands and their options, the full text of DMs sent to the bot and server messages that mention it, and the bot’s replies. Logs can include usernames and channel and server names. We do not save ordinary server conversations that do not mention the bot.
- Install and removal details, alert delivery results, and errors. Server details can include its name, description, member and channel counts, language, settings, creation date, and owner’s ID and username. If Discord allows it, we check who installed the bot and record their ID and username.
Why and where. These records help us send alerts, manage subscriptions, and troubleshoot. They live in a database and logs on the bot’s server. Copies may be kept on the operator’s computer for troubleshooting or backup. The operator can read them and receives Discord notifications about installs, removals, and subscription changes, including relevant names and IDs. Do not send the bot passwords or other private information.
Other services. Discord handles bot messages under its privacy policy. The bot fetches public EWS feeds, including a dashboard hosted on Cloudflare. Those requests expose the bot server’s IP address, but do not include your Discord IDs or messages. Links you follow have their own privacy rules.
Stopping and deleting. Use /unsubscribe in the subscribed channel or DM, or send unsubscribe to the bot in a DM. This stops that subscription, but does not erase its record or old logs. Records have no automatic expiry and may remain until manually deleted, including in backups and operator notifications.
To ask about your data or request access, correction, or deletion, open a GitHub issue asking for a private contact route. Issues are public: do not include IDs, message text, or other personal details. We may need to verify that the data is yours. We cannot delete records controlled by Discord or GitHub.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
